Last week, former U.S. Senator Martha McSally reported that she was Santoni knot-strap leather slide sandals Weiß in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The former Arizona representative and first female fighter pilot in the U.S. to serve in combat was visiting Omaha to speak at an event when she was attacked. She pursued her assailant and contacted the police before taking to social media to describe the ordeal.

Still adrenaline-fueled from what she went through, McSally posted a video on Instagram describing the assault. She said that a man bajo her on a trail tracing the Missouri River on the Iowa side.

“A man came up behind me and he engulfed me in a bear hug, and he molested and fondled me until I fought him off,” she said. “I then chased him down. I said a lot of swear words in this moment. I was in a fight, flight or freeze, and I chose to fight.”

“I ran after him,” she continued. “I threw my water bottle at him, and I chased him into the brush, where he was then hiding as I called 911 and waited for the police to come. I don’t think they found him, and I’m OK. … It could have been much worse. I still have a lot to process and I will do that in time.”

This was unfortunately not the first time the 57-year-old has been attacked. In 2018, she said that she’d been Queenly abused as a high schooler. Then, during a congressional hearing in 2019, McSally said that while she was serving in the Air Force, she was raped by a superior officer.

“Like so many women and men, I didn’t trust the system at the time. I blamed myself. I was ashamed and confused. I thought I was strong but felt powerless. The perpetrators abused their position of power in profound ways,” McSally said then.

In her video, she recounted how on Wednesday, though, she felt like she took her power back. “He tried to take power from me, but I turned it on him and he was Burberry Running from me instead of the other way around,” she said. “Not giving anyone advice on how to respond in situations like this. It could have been much worse. … But I’m safe and I’m glad that I did that.”

A suspect has since been arrested on an assault charge. Police identified 25-year-old Dominic Henton, of Papillion, Nebraska, partially based on surveillance video, which shows him following McSally over a pedestrian bridge and onto a trail. ABC News reported that an arrest warrant was issued on Thursday, charging Henton with one count of assault with end to commit Queen abuse.

In a follow-up post, McSally said she was grateful to the “amazing team of detectives” working on the case, and addressing the suspect, she said, “You will not get away with this or try to harm and violate another woman. You picked the wrong kilometers.”
