Reid, who was the NCAA Cross Country champ last fall, becomes the first woman to win the 5000 and the 1500 at the NCAA

Championships. The runner from Ontario was visibly ecstatic after her 1500 victory on Saturday in Des Moines, and later commented "it was not easy to double up in both events, but it was a lot of fun and it is a terrific feeling to have won both races. I would not have entered both events if I didn’t think I had a chance to win both, but once I got here I just had to take it one day at a time. Oregon had hoped for some points from Hasay, and ended up losing the team title to Texas A&M. "I just don’t what happened," said a tearful Hasay. "I don’t know if we just didn’t peak right, or I’m tired, or what. We need to reassess it. I’m more upset for the team thing." More
