Running opened the doors to triathlon and led to introductions to two groups of active women that inspire and uplift me daily (FastChix and She Runs This Town Louisville). When people ask me if I’m a runner, I respond by saying “I move at a forward pace in an upright posture,” but both FastChix and SRTTLou remind me that it’s the effort and mindset that matters, not the pace. The relationships I’ve built through running mean the world to me.
As a student of the human body, learning how it moves, and what it’s capable of, different training approaches fascinate me. I primarily joined RW+ for the training program access, but I devour articles that report on new schools of thought with regard to strengthening and body mechanics.
I’m Races & Places. When I tell people I run, I occasionally get the elevator eyes and the response of “really?” I suppose that’s partially because I still can’t quite believe it myself, but also because I don’t look like a “stereotypical runner”. I’m constantly trying to prove to myself that I really can lace up, pound the pavement, and return home feeling proud. Plus, I love the running community.
I run primarily Waterfront Park or Cherokee Park here in Louisville. I’m a Floridian and water views soothe me. Cherokee Park is a gorgeous combination of tree cover, streams, and two pesky hills that I love to hate. Plus the bathrooms at Cherokee are open year-round!
I wear Brooks Ghost shoes, Coeur fitted running shorts or Stiletto Running tie dye capris, Balega socks, Goodr ice cream cone or Pride glasses, and a ball cap. Cystic Fibrosis Isnt Stopping This Runner. My ball cap collection is ridiculous.
This Runner Survived Stroke and Boston Bombings—Put Your Sh*t Away: A Bedtime Story For the Messy. It’s an illustrated children’s book for adults.

Caroline’s enthusiasm for enriching the run community originates from engaging with her local run specialty store customers, where she still works part-time. As a professional hobby jogger, she loves exchanging training stories and hearing from RW+ members about their race victories.
