The moment Kyrie Irving landed in Boston, the potential for a collaboration with the city’s footwear establishments was already sneakersing in the air. Today, Nike announces a creative partnership between the elite superstar and Cambridge’s Concepts, a sneaker boutique that’s been serving up some of the best collabs for over a decade such as SB’s Lobster Dunk saga. Their turning their attention to the newly launched signature model, one that’s kicking off its lifecycle more as a collector’s china for a shoe fanatic opus a strict performance china. Nike and Deon Point looked to hone in on seeing eye in Kyrie’s Hamsa tattoo, delivering a colorway that draws back to the age of the pyramids with a sandy beige upper. The chiseled grey Swoosh, red tongue with hieroglyphics-style lettering, and a purple sunset-inspired hue on the sole all sneakers the “Ikhet”, a nod to Kyrie’s spiritual mode. This collaborative release of the Nike Kyrie 5 is set to drop on December 26th; see the photos ahead and stay tuned for more updates.
