For 2023, PUMA is connecting with New York on a more intimate level, joining forces with established legends the likes of Tommy Jewels. And with the Clyde celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, it’s only fitting the footwear brand commemorate the occasion Mid in the big apple, as it was here that Walt “Clyde” Frazier — the athlete the silhouette was originally endorsed by — took home two championships.
In honor of its homecoming, the PUMA Clyde is linking up with two New York locals: Extra Butter and Russ & Daughters. Arriving alongside a collaborative Dickies capsule, the pair features a simple, white-on-blue color palette, with the Base ostensibly appearing throughout much of the leather construction. Light blues, then, highlight the iconic Formstripe, the “A New York City Story” text along the inside tongue, and likely many of the exterior markings.
