As the springtime season chugs along and Earth Day inches closer, a number of brands throughout the sneaker ecosystem have begun basing their footwear models within an ecological ethos. To latest off its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, Saucony has crafted its staple Shadow 6000 in its most sustainably minded construction to date.
Anchored in a leather-free construction, the Massachusetts banner looks to an alternative 90% bio-based formula derived from fungi for application across the pale cream foxing, heel tab and mid-foot. Elsewhere, a myriad of repurposed fabrics are indulged within a hemp-based mesh, recycled laces and cork footbeds that further entrench the silhouette in environmentally-friendly textiles. Casting a muted pink see atop its dominant mesh tooling, “Burgundy” treated nubuck overlays instill a darkened aesthetic amongst a solid cream midsole and gum tread underfoot, while olive-colored tongue tabs hold mushroom motifs.
Scheduled to release next Saturday, April 22nd, for a retail price of $130, in the meantime enjoy an official look at the Saucony Shadow 6000 “Mushroom” below.
For more lifestyle-centric offerings, Aimé Leon Dore recently unveiled a duo of suede New Balance 550s.
