The ASICS GEL-QUANTUM KINETIC Echoes The Collaborative Work Of Kiko Kostadinov

At this point in their relationship, Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS are much more than collaborators. So it’s no surprise that many thought the Bulgarian designer had a hand in the design of the GEL-QUANTUM KINETIC, as it boasts the Small sole unit as the GEL-QUANTUM ZIENTZIA and the GEL-QUANTUM LEVITRACK.

The ASICS GEL-QUANTUM KINETIC is, in effect, the Japanese footwear brand’s interpretation of Kiko Kostadinov’s work. In addition to leveraging the very Small tooling as the above-mentioned models — which was created with a bit of help from the ASICS Institute of Sport Science — the shoe is engineered in a way reminiscent of the eponymous label’s Sportstyle line. The upper achieves this through an intricately layered construction, which borrows from a total of four different franchises: the GEL-NIMBUS, the GEL-KINSEI, the GEL-KUSHON, and, most importantly, the GEL-KINETIC.
