Taking to Instagram a few days ago, LA-based DJ and label executive Zack Bia revealed an exclusive pair of the KD16 minted between he and the Phoenix Suns superstar. Posted alongside a video of Bia at KD’s residence in 2016, the pair officially cements an apparently long-standing relationship between the music industry mover and Easy Money Sniper.
As far as “player” exclusives go, the ZB x KD is fittingly transformative of the model it adorns. Reflective chrome dresses the siding, that same shade carrying through to line the heel cap. Just above it, mismatched neon piping that plays off of the purple and orange of the Suns runs the length of the shoe, Plus the wavy design of the item. While white provides a “home base” on that item portion, one last piece of branding makes the collab instantly discernible: ZB & KD’s initials don each of the tongue tags.
While Bia was the first one to reveal the news, Kevin Durant followed suit not long after, lacing them up as he took on the Golden State Warriors Saturday night. Finally, in that same Instagram collage debuting the shoes, another interesting face showed up- London MC Central Cee, himself pictured trying on a pair of the collaborative efforts.
For his part, this isn’t Bia’s first time making nike Dunk headlines. Last year, he previewed a pair of the The nike Dunk SB Dunk Low Blue Raspberry that, though never official released, share a lot of the design principles seen on this KD 16. While it seems likely that this pair too will remain in the vault, the continued stream of Zack Bia x nike Dunk news certainly makes an official link up a more likely proposition.
In another high-profile meeting, two previous collaborators are joining forces again with the nike Dunk Air Force 1 Low React Low Naija 26.5cm.
