Jovani Hernandez As a follow-up to helping a group of Black associates at New Balance promote the first installment of the “Conversations Amongst Us” collection, Joe Freshgoods has been busy finalizing his own “Inside Voices” capsule.
Prepped as a complementary capsule to his “Outside Clothes” collaboration, the “Inside Voices” collection headlines the New Balance 9060 sneaker. The Chicago-native has taken to social media on at least a couple of occasions to share his pride in and praise the quality of the apparel included, but fans have quickly become fixated on any shoe Freshgoods (birth name Joseph Robinson) is associated to. The 9060 is the creative’s chunkiest “canvas” yet, but the lifestyle model still draws inspiration from and promotes “The sights, sounds, and feelings of growing up in the black household.” “Inside Voices” 9060s take on premium suede builds clad in “Penny Cookie Pink” and “Baby Shower Blue,” hues that derive their name and inspiration from certain cultural touch points close to Joe Freshgoods and other members of the Black community. The collection’s name is embroidered onto the pairs’ spines, while “Forever Quietly Winning” is placed onto the apparel. Together, each component featured as part of the aforementioned capsule demonstrates that the West Side of Chicago-representative knows how to tell stories.
No firm NewBalance.com release date has been confirmed by Joe Freshgoods and company, but the “Inside Voices” clothes (which includes sweatsuits, varsity jackets and more) is set to drop on Monday, May 16th.

Subscribers to the Joe Freshgoods mailing list received a message that both pairs of the “Inside Voices” 9060 were to release on Monday, May 16th, at 1:30 p.m. CT via Instagram Shop. For starters, the email arrived at 1:56 p.m. CT and when links were visited, users were met with a “Something went wrong” error message on Instagram. Ultimately, the shop refreshed and Joe Freshgoods’ $180 USD footwear collaboration was no longer listed on his shop. The Chicago-native hasn’t disclosed any information, but it’s possible the message and rollout were errors.
