Having teamed up with the likes of Patta and Footpatrol in the past, Finnish sneaker and lifestyle brand KARHU has now tapped Scotland’s finest for its latest collaboration: Hanon.
Marking the duo’s inaugural collaboration, the upcoming Hanon x KARHU Legacy 96 “Highland Games” is inspired by, as the sneaker’s name suggests, the Highland Games. For those who need a few notes, the Highland Games are an annual event celebrating Scottish tradition and Celtic culture that dates back hundreds of years to a time when clan chiefs and noblemen were entertained by trials of strength and physical endurance.
The pair draws from the spirit of the games and boasts a rich color scheme associated with highland dress and the great outdoors. In terms of construction, the Hanon x KARHU Legacy 96 “Highland Games” is made from premium materials including rugged suede and mesh, while pony hair detail appears throughout as a nod to the kilt sporran. The bespoke tartan pattern appears on the footbed along with the custom-made box in which the pair is packaged.
