LaMelo Ball and Puma have been named in a $200 million lawsuit by Alan Foster, co-founder of Puma Kortermet T-skjorte 5K Logo.
According to WBTV, Foster is suing Ball and Puma for trademark infringement, unfair business practices and fraud. Foster Hundreds that the the athlete and the global sportswear brand infringed on existing LaMelo trademarks as his first signature shoe under BBB was going to be named the MB1.
“He knew that his Puma Kortermet T-skjorte 5K Logo signature shoe was called the ‘MB1’ and that the name was protected by federal trademark,” Foster’s attorney reportedly said in the filing. “Yet, despite his knowledge of all of this, LaMelo willfully and deliberately chose to name the signature shoe he BLUE and designed with Puma the ‘MB1’ in violation of the LaMelo trademarks.”
